Lift Build Plan Review

Hey Jerry, is the Super 35 kit just the axles?? I would like to upgrade so I can possibly run 33's in the future. If its only the axles, do I buy the gears also or no?? If so from where. Thanks
A Super35 kit from Revolution Gear & Axle includes the axle shafts, bearings, and a locker.

The gears are bought separately but my advice is if you're having a shop install install them, not to buy the gears. Instead, have the installing shop provide the gears so if something goes wrong, their warranty on the regearing job will cover both the gears and labor. If you provide the gears and something goes wrong, the shop will blame the gears you provided and take no responsibility. The dealer you bought the gears from will blame the installer because it is the installer who is responsible for gears going bad, from a bad install/setup. The gears themselves are seldom at blame. Gear setup is critical and not even experienced gear installers get it right the first time so you don't want to give the shop any excuse to blame anything they didn't provide.

OK, so what gears would you recommend for about 50% highway, sand and maybe a little mud. NO rock climbing lol and no bigger than 33's.

I'd go 5.13 with your particular transmission which will produce optimal, not too high, highway rpms. Others have gone with 4.88 for 33's but regretted it, wishing they had gone with 5.13.

OK so my build list is complete. I made some tweaks from original list.

Remaining parts are being ordered and I should have this done within the next few weeks.

  1. Savvy 1.25 Inch BL
  2. Iron Rock Offroad 1 Inch MML
  3. JKS adjustable track bar
  4. Currie Correctlync steering
  5. OME 2 inch lift with HD springs\OME steering stabilizer
  6. Lower Metalcloak Adjustable Control Arms
  7. 33X12.5R15s Cooper STT Pros
  8. Mammoth Type88 15x8 Wheels
Currie is saying for lifts under 4" you'll need 2" bumpstop with the Correctlync steering. I'm curious why you need this part?

I plan to wheel the Jeep in rocks, and most of the Jeeps I will be with will be more built up than mine. The stock steering setup is very week to be wheeling with 33s. The only bolt in options worth doing are a ZJ upgrade or the Currie setup. I'd rather just do the Currie once and be done with it. Many people run this with the OME 2 inch lift (with HD springs it is closer to 2.5) without issue.

I played around with piecing things together for weeks and never could touch one of the kit prices from Savvy. I always was amazed when most good lift kits started being over $2k but once i was in a position to actually be buying one and I started running the numbers, even finding great deals and free shipping here and there, it is actually a good deal to get the package. You're already getting the antirock, a couple control arms, springs, track bar etc. I bet you're pretty close. Either way sounds like you've got a solid plan. Good luck and keep us posted.

I did look into Metal Cloak and Currie kits, but things tend to snowball. With a 4 inch lift then I would need either an SYE or a TC drop (which I refuse to do) and while I've heard good things about the anti rock, the Currie steering upgrade takes priority over that going up to 33x12.5. Since I made the last post I added doing eastwood frame coating to the list since it's the perfect time while everything is apart and the Jeep is off the road. My 05 frame is in amazing shape and I plan to keep it that way ;)

*If you look down later in the thread there is an updated list. I had to shit can the antirock for now....
