Looking for a cheap acetylene torch to heat bolts up for removal. Anyone have any cheap suggestions or just plain good suggestions for heating up bolts for removal?

I've had one of these Bernzomatic Mapp gas torches for about 15 years, never let me down. I have a proper oxy/acetylene setup, but I use it infrequently. More for cutting than heating, plus it takes two canisters. Mapp gas is great, it'll get it glowing in no time without you having to worry about melting something.

Same. I’ll heat up bolts and light my grill with the same mapp torch. My oxy/acetylene setup just takes up space.

Yeah, I used to do a lot more stuff than I do now, I could get rid of it & not skip a beat but I won't cuz I horde tools. I use the mapp torch everywhere. Bring it on every camping trip, light off fireworks with it, light the grill, light the firepit.

I forgot it on our last camping trip to WY, when I told my little kids they got sad because they thought there was no other way to start a fire & make smores.

Lit the candles on my daughter’s bday cake with my mapp torch.

What is cheap? You can get a portable setup with tanks for about 300 bucks. Victor, not HF. I don't know that I'd trust HF with something that can explode as easily as an oxy acetylene setup...

It’s one time use, so sub $60.

This is only $46, a good way to go for me. For now it’s just a one time use. I’m sure I’ll find other uses, like igniting birthday candles and fireworks. 🤣

I learned to weld with my Dad's Harris O/A torches in the '70s and soon after bought my own Victor torches and they have been great. About 10 years ago I bought Victor knock-offs as a backup / road set from Princess Auto (similar to Harbor Frieght) and have been surprised at how good they are.

As for blowing things up, what's the old saying? ... "A before O or up you go". 💥
