Looking for a full metal hood latch.

I don't think anyone has posted these but this is what I got.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KZLY9SV/?tag=wranglerorg-20I'm on my second set since one of the locks corroded closed last winter. If that does happen you can still get the hood open with a few Allen wrenches. Obviously they won't get a glowing review from me because of that but I do like the look and otherwise function of them. I also rigged up some new hood bumpers with some rubber stoppers and adjusted the latches so there is zero play/flutter in them.

I have these. Rock solid once you get them installed and set properly...

TJ hood latches, Amazon...
Ignore this. I don't see where to delete a post. I just put some extra rubber washers in it, and it pulled it far enough away. They work great! Thanks for the suggestion! I got these. I've installed one and it just clamps hard against my hood. Like metal on metal. Like as I clamp it just clanks into the hood. There is nothing to stop it from doing that no matter where I might adjust it. They also didn't come with instructions, lol. Maybe you have a secret I don't understand.

Mine came with thick plastic “gaskets” that go under the hood pieces to properly space the latch out from the hood when locked in place...

I'm getting a lot of hood flutter. I also want to change out all the latch stuff to paint a fender. The stock jeep one looks like I'm going to have to cut it out of there. Why would you put a thin, sharp square head bolt that relies on plastic to hold it in place to get the nut off. It completely just spins now.

I've seen the RR aluminum ones, but there is a single plastic piece that it all clips to. I've seen loads of complaints on it breaking. They would be perfect if the most important part of the whole thing wasn't made of plastic. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P2HRGPI/?tag=wranglerorg-20

I've also seen the Drake Offroad ones. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OCJXR8C/?tag=wranglerorg-20 They both look ugly to me, and also sound like a pain to get the hood open and closed.

I'm just seeing if there is an actually well designed metal latch for the hood that I'm missing. Heck even a replacement one a this point that doesn't have that horrible failure point of a thin bolt head having soft plastic being what keeps it from spinning when you try to take it off.
Well, perhaps these really suck, but I did go with the Rugged Ridge (OMIX) Aluminum. The one's you linked to were the JK version, but I have the TJ version. I'm not aware of the plastic part on the latch, but I could be wrong. I haven't had mine long, but so far they have been fine. They are spendy at $110

I ended up with these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MMRSCX8/?tag=wranglerorg-20 . Fully metal. They took a lot of adjustment though. The rugged ridge have a plastic clip at the top that holds it all together. The circled red part is a plastic clip.

Yeah, I like the one's you linked too. I could have saved some coin too. Guess I could send the RR back, they are less than 20 days old. Thanks for the link.
These don't "latch" shut, but they use tension. Like it folds over itself to hold it shut. They are firmly shut, but I could see maybe a branch or something able to pop them open. Though at that point I've got some serious hood damage anyways, lol. You have to tug on them pretty firmly, and then they still stay caught even open.

X2, these are the one's I went with too, but the one's without the lock.
I soak em down with my "all-in-one" ceramic detail coating every time I use it and they've stayed nice and fresh for a couple of years now.
Absolutely zero hood flutter, like you said and they just look old school bad-ass too!

So what's the deal on Daystar rubbers being too tight in cold weather and reviewers comments that they might break the plastic of the OEM latch. Somebody smokin' something or just paranoia?
