Was checking under hood earlier and noticed that I had lost my coolant overflow cap and the old yellow label around the neck of bottle. I know it was on a couple days ago (pic below for reference). Granted the cap was old and brittle and was also broken apart from the yellow plastic ring that holds it on the bottle, but really not sure why or how it decided to come off (and take the yellow label thing with it. Any thoughts from the group? Anyone had this happen. It’s not that the part is expensive just curious as to why.

Mine cracked along the seam where it opens and holds itself to the bottle. Is there still half of it there or is it completely gone?
Completely gone along with that plastic label piece. I looked around engine compartment but didn’t see it stuck anywhere. Somehow it must have popped off and fan/air force forced its way to the road when I was driving. Just not sure why/how it happened.
