Metal Grinding / Rattling Noise Under Jeep

Hey guys, I went off-roading and went through a mud pit (I never do but of course the time I do it causes issues lol) and ever since when I’m in 4h/lo there’s like a metal grinding sound and in 2h there’s a metal rattling noise when I’m driving. When I come to a stop it goes away. My initial thought is that it would be the linkage for the transfer case, y’all think that’s probably it? Sorry for the not great photos but any help would be appreciated!

Everything looks ok on the linkage from first glance. Have you checked your fluids in your TC? Could have sucked up muddy water in it

Don't know about the noise but I'd power wash the underside. Mud traps moisture and can create rust.

Maybe small rocks and debris in your brake pads and/or shoes.

Yup that was already after one session of cleaning lol. I have to really get under there but didn’t have the ability to originally.

The contaminated t-case oil wouldn’t cause a vibration in the Jeep right? Just started this weird massage chair like vibrating going above 50

It’s so hard to hear on video, tried a few different ways to get it sounding good but just ain’t going for some reason in my phone. Taking it into my mechanic and the noise has gotten worse and there’s a new low clicking noise that developed. I don’t have the capacity to be able to track it down so to my mechanic it goes!

Welp it was the front driveshaft and u-joints. Any good recommendations on a new one? Would rather buy an upgraded one even if it costs me a little bit more then rebuilding the current one.

Adam’s or Tom Woods are the two most recommended brands on here. You just measure what you need or if it’s a stock driveshaft they can build it custom for your needs. I just installed an Adam’s rear driveshaft today. Look to pay around $400 for the custom heavy duty driveshaft. A rebuild kit for your factory driveshaft is about $100 give or take

Tom Wood's. Adam's may be a great driveshaft company, but from personal experience, not only does Tom Wood's make great driveshafts, they have hands down, bar none, the best customer service in the industry.
