I’d like to hear your thoughts on the new mid size trucks available today. My cousin bought a Colorado a few years ago and my brother has owned several Tacoma’s. Both have had good luck. Your thoughts or experiences with them?
I totally agree with your assessment. I’ve had a 95,02 and 2012 and I agree Toyota is living on its past reliability. I purchased a 2012 new it had a plastic clutch pedal and slave cylinders that when it got cold outside when pressed would not come back up. The transmission sucked first gear to low but reverse was about 35 mph lol. I lost both front wheel bearing before 70k. I have a friend that works at Toyota and when he started 15 years ago if anyone dropped any motor or transmission components they where instructed to throw it in recycling bins. Now they tell them to pick it up and use it anyway.I've had three Tacomas- a 1997, a 2009 and a 2012, and each was progressively worse in terms of reliability. All over TacomaWorld there are people longing for a more simple, less "techie" mid-size. It's called the Frontier. A Pro4X runs thousands less than any other mid-sized, and there are always great deals to be had. Still a worthy choice.
My 1990 Toyota made 257,000 miles.
Love that truck. Every time you post a pic of it looks better and better hahaFound a matching camper for it and put a rack on top. Use it for elk hunting. Put all the elk meat inside and the antlers on top. My wife's elk. She let me eat some of it. View attachment 103600
