You all can talk about shooting all the guns you want but until you've had a chance to send a 120mm round down range you just don't know what FUN is.

When I first got in, OD's were still being phased out. I had a PSG that would still rock them. We all thought he was cool as a cucumber.

Yeah, I'm old...

Edit: Not Jerry old, but old...

I'm old enough to of had the cotton OD's and khaki dress uniforms too. I was pretty studlie in mine. I'll have to see if I can find a picture.

'In Honored Remembrance of Our Fallen Postal Comrades'
Memorial at Joint Base Balad (LSA Anaconda), Iraq 2006

The 1544th Transportation Company from Paris, Illinois ( featured in the top right of this memorial) suffered its first death within 24 hours of entering Iraq and its total losses included 3 commanders and 2 sets of twin brothers. At the time, only one National Guard company in Iraq had lost more soldiers and ultimately these losses were so profound that an Army general took the nearly unheard-of step of shifting the unit to less dangerous duty for its final months in Iraq.

The 1544th was assigned to escort mail and supplies along some of Iraq's most deadly routes including Route Irish- the infamous 7.5 mile stretch from Baghdad’s Green Zone to the airport, often in vehicles that offered little protection.
