Not a lot of difficulty on this portion of the trail, but the scenery is incredible. Lathrop Canyon goes all the way to the Colorado River at the bottom.

Day two:

Hell’s Revenge
Went out and back through the first mile. Pregnant wife wasn’t feeling it (after going up the long, steep hill in the background of the photo below), so we bailed out early.

Day three:

Got up at 4:30 am to get out to Delicate Arch for the sunrise. Unfortunately weather today was poor (cloudy and very windy) so it wasn’t what we hoped for. We layered up for all the hikes and trails and it wasn’t a lot of fun.

We took Salt Valley Road through the park back to Tower Arch Trail. This is a fun, technical 4x4 trail with a half mile section of up and down rock crawling and several miles of smooth sand trail. Didn’t get many photos because of the wind.

You're doing hells revenge aren't you?

If you do hells gate, understand the entry to hells gate is JUST AS DAMN SCARY as hells gate itself.

(no one told me that when I did it )

We did the first mile, up and over the first long, steep hill. Pregnant wife wasn’t feeling it so we bailed early. We would have benefited from having someone to follow and watch.

Day four:

Spent most of the day at Canyonlands. The original plan was to go to Elephant Hill, but it was closed for road construction (back open 4/16/21 according to the sign). We also drove through the Colorado River Canyon toward Castle Valley. Extremely windy again.

Day five:

Woke up to rain. Had planned to go to Top of the World today but didn’t like the prospects with the rain. Changed plans and went to Onion Creek and Fisher Towers in the morning, which are in the canyon below Top of the World.

Weather really hindered the last few days. Heading home tomorrow. This week absolutely flew by.

We got back to town absolutely covered in mud. Spent several minutes at the pay and spray car wash even though it was pouring rain. Didn’t want to deal with caked on mud tomorrow or on the way home. Funny thing was I wasn’t alone at the car wash, there was a line to get in!
