Utah Moab 2024 JuneFest 9th-15th

One interesting thing about the KOA is that they don't allow you to have a tent at your RV site.. The other RV park I'd stayed at before allowed you to have a tent at the RV site. So the last time I went my daughter and I slept in my camper & my son slept in a tent next to the trailer.

I'd stayed at the Canyonlands RV park both times I went before. They had a pool which was important since my daughter was younger back then. They are cheaper than the KOA and have cabins and other accommodations for those that don't have an RV... Just throwing it out there.

It is under different ownership since the last time I was there. One note they do allow tents on RV sites. They just have to be taken down during the day.

It’d cost me more. We don’t all have to stay at the same place though. Everyone should do what’s best for them.

I don’t remember what the number was, I just saw it was more. Plus the KOA is supposed to have the biggest pool in Moab and the kids will want to use it.

I like the idea of us all staying in the same park.. Was just throwing out options. I know they used to have a nice sized pool and their RV spots had shade from trees. I'd linked the wrong campground before.

This was the place I was trying to find.

I'll put this out there as a maybe right now and will say NLT April 15 I will have a firm idea if I won't be able to make it due to my RV not being ready.
So my OFFER is this:
I'll have a queen sized bunk over the cab in my RV for someone. I'm not going to put a $$ on the spot I'd just appreciate a donation towards the fees. And of course I'd expect whomever to chip in on groceries for the nights we cook.

I've of course got bedding for it. And steps to get up & down on. Let me know if any of you are interested.

Are there specific reasons for choosing June or April, other than just scheduling?
I guess kids in school might be the reason for not attending in April.

Do lots of you trail with your kids in the back seat? Do you pick and choose trails accordingly? Mine are 6yr old twin girls (adventurous) .

Figuring out how to get the 5'er and the LJR there at the same time. 2 tow vehicles for sure.

I'd be running the LJR topless/bikini regardless of which dates I choose so I don't nick my hardtop.:) and can dress for cooler weather.

The big driver for me was to take the kids.

After how nice the weather was last year I do prefer it. April has been cold and rainy both times we attended. Coming from the cold of Minnesota, I look forward to warm weather. We've also had guys run into snow storms crossing the Rockies in April which wouldn't be an issue for you but it's less likely in June.

My daughter has been back seat riding since she was 5 in Moab. Never had an issue, she used to fall asleep on the trails. We'd be bouncing along and she'd be out. There's not much high speed stuff and the kids always seem to like climbing around on the rocks or exploring.
