Utah TJ Fest 2022 Team America 2.0

Here's what was added to mine. I only know how to program the Rugged radios since I had to buy software for both my handhelds and my mobile unit.

I think @rasband uses Chirp to program or something like that.

Thanks, that looks like it will be helpful. Wouxun has free programming software I can download.

I also found this in the owner's manual. If I am understanding this correctly, I can have someone near me transmit on a privacy channel and my radio can scan for it and save the settings. Like I said, this is all new to me, so maybe that's not what it means.

[21: TONE-SCAN] CTCSS/DCS Scan
Function: Scans the incoming signal for CTCSS or DCS tones to identify or confirm the correct tone. This function must be activated while receiving a signal.

Options: 1. CTCSS/2. DCS
Default: None. Choose the function and press [MENU] to activate the scan.
Note: The scan will stop when the signal ends and resume from where it left off the next time the signal is received, until it identifies the correct tone. Use the [UP]/[DOWN] arrow keys to scan in a different direction.

[22: TONE-SAVE] CTCSS/DCS Tone Save Options
Function: This item determines how a CTCSS or DCS tone is saved to a channel after a CTCSS/DCS scan.
Options: RX/TX/ALL
Default: RX
RX: Saves the scanned tone to the RX-CTCSS/DCS setting
TX: Saves the scanned tone to the TX-CTCSS/DCS setting.

ALL: Saves the scanned tone to both.

That sounds nifty. Never thought of them doing that.

I've been playing around with mine and being able to use the DCS codes is very nice cause it filters out all the unwanted chatter.

What is your tow rig?

I've contemplated putting an aluminum skid on mine which covers the cats. Though mine in particular are angled up towards the headers, they wouldn't be real easy to snag.
I have a Dodge Ram. It was quite the surprise to light it off at 6 in the morning. That Hemi makes a nice roar with a straight pipe.

I am looking at ways to cover it when I get it back. I need to take measurements but I think I can add a skid plate down there.

Won't help on the Ram so you'll need to buy a new truck but this guy is a vendor on another forum I'm on.

Check out what he says at 3:12

Sooo excited
Amazing driver or amazing spotter, that is the question?

It's not that hard of a trail you can go around most things but it does seem more difficult with a blown radiator and no water.

I got my programming cable and software. This is what I ended up with. I don't have separate DCS fields. Mine has "CTCSS/DCS" which has a drop down menu that includes "67.0 HZ". I manually typed in "223" since there isn't another place to put it. I don't know if this is correct or not.

Any help would be appreciated since I do not know anything about programming radios. Again, this is for a Wouxun KG-935G radio.

That’s how I’d have done it. But, I’m no expert.
