Utah TJ Fest 2022 Team America 2.0

That really sucks! Can you patch a section of tubing in with some band clamps until it arrives?
I hadn't considered that. Unfortunately, it is being covered by insurance and they already took the truck to a shop. Maybe I can make a call or two. Thanks for the idea.

Drive the Jeep out! Then we can hunt down those SOBs when we are all back in town. Sorry to hear that Scott, that's messed up.
I had thought about driving the jeep. My wife gets roadsick in long trips in the jeep. Too bouncy. It's not bad in the truck where she can recline and sleep most of the way. I'll work on her.

I would love to get my hands on the SOB. I have learned there are at least 5 trucks in the neighborhood that were hit. If I could just find someone crawling out from beneath a truck...Crowbar to the noggin

I wanted to say something about how they should have their hand removed for theft but I think the world would be a better place without the thief.

Are you guys planning the same GMRS channel (19) and privacy code (223) as last year?
I have a gmrs with all the channels programmed, but don't have any privacy codes programmed. Is that necessary? I'm new to this radio stuff.

You'd be able to hear everyone without privacy codes but we wouldn't be able to hear you (they are just a filtering mechanism, so they're not really privacy related at all)

What do you mean all channels programmed? Which model did you get?
I got the Wouxun KG-935G. It comes pre-programmed for the 22 gmrs channels. Normally, if I am out with a group, we just pick a channel to use, and everyone tunes to that channel. I have never used privacy codes.

It says it supports 155 privacy codes, so I just need to figure out how to program them. It talks about CTCSS tones and DCS codes not sure which I use (or both)?

You should program in the GMRS channels 16-20 and add the DCS code 223 to them. You'd want these in addition to the original 16-20.

I just became a maybe for the trip. Someone cut the catalytic convertor off of my tow rig. I was told it is a 3 week back order for parts. I hate worthless f'in thieves. 🤬🤬
What is your tow rig?

I've contemplated putting an aluminum skid on mine which covers the cats. Though mine in particular are angled up towards the headers, they wouldn't be real easy to snag.

I just ordered a programming cable since it looks like custom channels cannot be programmed using the radio itself. Hopefully I get the cable in time.

Here's what was added to mine. I only know how to program the Rugged radios since I had to buy software for both my handhelds and my mobile unit.

I think @rasband uses Chirp to program or something like that.

That's the one, free and decent enough for my needs so far. But it doesn't support everything. The list is here.
