Mounting clutch without alignment tool

Can anyone offer any tips or tricks on mounting the clutch without the alignment tool? I can’t find it and I have to get it mounted.

I've used a large drift punch if you have one the correct size. Worst case you can make your own with a wooden dowel. I saw a guy do it once with a screwdriver and a small funnel, but I like a little more precision that that.

Get the tool. It's a pita getting it line up with the tool let alone trying to fake it.

I have always just used my finger if i didn’t have the pecker shaft .... that’s what the tool was called when I was a kid [emoji41]

Screwdriver handle will also work

I used a socket that fit the splines and a fat screwdriver for the pilot bearing through the socket drive hole. That was on a 2001 porsche 911. Worked perfect. $500 clutch kit, didn't come with the tool...go figure...

The tool is probably 10 bucks and can be found wherever clutches are sold.
