Well, I sold my TJ. But I'm picking up a 2012 JKU Sport this week. And I can already tell the sister JK forum here is much better than the other JK forums. So I will still be around on the JK site here. And will still drop in from time to time for general advice and comments.
I just wanted to a take a second and thank everyone on this forum.
I have belonged to many forums over the last 30 years. On a myriad of subjects. But very few have I felt like I would stay on forever. And continue to contribute too. This is one of three that I feel that way about.
Two things make a great forum. The owners/mods and the members. The owner sets the tone, the mods carry it out and that attracts good people with common interests and a will to help one another. IF its run properly.
Chris is the perfect person for this. As he gets so much - that so many others don't. For a good forum to work - you as a member - have to be NICE. A nice person. And someone willing to help others out.
But if the owner doesn't get that, place it in the rules, and enforce it - a forum can be a miserable place. Full of oneupsmanship, flaming and insecure people with a deep need for drama.
Unfortunately alot of forums are like that.
But when the owners don't put up with any bullshit. And foster a real sense of community it can be a place that brings nice people together from all over the world. That share a common interest and just like to help others.
Lastly, a forum IMHO is a repository for cateloged knowledge.
Chris and everyone else here that has contributed does a stellar job of both - creating that nice community and devoting countless hours to cataloging knowledge. Everyone treats each other with dignity, helps out as much as they can and organizes a vast amount of information that will hopefully be around forever.
