Nashville TJ's Build - Continued

I’ve got an Estopp on my Mustang. One thing to keep in mind is the time to actuate. It takes several seconds to go from one position to the other. That is fine for me as a parking brake but may not be great if intended to help navigate tricky situations in real time on the trail.

Thanks for that info. The only reason for me to go the Estopp route would be to make room for a hydro cutting brake. So with that it would be a non issue.

After a quick, rainy trip out past Knoxville this morning, the shit's about to get real...

Not quite as gnarly as Rickey's Mickey's, but gnarly just the same:

Trep’s were about all that was run by members of Hidden Falls ORV where I first started wheeling’. $$$$$$$

Very cool. 40’s or 42’s?

Fodeez. Competition stickies. I need to swap the front axle before running 42's - otherwise they won't clear the back of the fender at full stuff / full turn.

We'll see how long they last on the street...

Stickies on the street? 10k maybe 🤔

Your front is 65" WMS?

I'd actually be surprised if they lasted 5k. But for me, that's still 3 1/2 years... :)

63.5" if memory serves. That's why I run the spacers to match the rear, and why I need to build a new front axle (the spacers are actually what would cause the contact at the rear of the fender). But, no hurry there.

Well when the time comes we'll have to talk... That would work just fine in mine and I doubt I'll ever go larger than 38" tires..... OK maybe 40's..

Good. I was worried that “tons and fodeez…” would go out of style. 🤣

Congrats! These will be awesome. Makes me want to buy some in 35” flavor.

And there lies the problem, they don't make anything in 35" anymore, it is even getting hard to find a stickie in 37" nowadays. So if you want to run a stickie or any decent tire that works in the southeast, you need to either go bigger or go with a sxs stickie. It's always the man, this time its the tire man.

I thought I found them. Maybe I’m mistaken. They’re in my cart though. Maybe these are the end of the line.

They make treps in bias non-sticky and bias comp sticky compound and I am about 99% sure that they don't make the sticky in 35s. I am not saying that the treps non-sticky aren't a good tire, but they aren't a sticky.

Easy way to tell: The stickies say “Trepador Competition” right on the sidewall. If you zoom in, you can tell those are definitely not the stickies.
