New Crown OPDA: Install or wait?

I have ordered and received a Crown OPDA for my 2005 LJ, which has something north of 100K* miles on it. The current OPDA is the factory model, and it is making no discernible noises. Should I go ahead and install the new one, or wait for any signs of trouble? I would by nature just go ahead, but I'm also reluctant to mess with something that's not broken yet.

*Odometer is right at 100K, but I changed the speedometer gear at 96K when I bought it to match the larger tires, so actual mileage is more.

If your current OPDA tells you it needs to be changed the damage is done and you are screwed. Why wait? You do have to be careful and the job isn't what some people call easy but look at the alternative.

I ordered a Crown OPDA and put it in the other day. I hadn't heard any noises, but I figured why have a new part sitting around when the original has the potential of failing and causing damage to my engine. It was an easy install, and only took about 45 minutes. The hardest part turned out to be removing the old cap screws and getting the collar bracket back on.

Replaced mine as soon as I had the Jeep. Old one looks ok so i wrapped it up put it in the box and labeled it as a spare. Should never need it, but better it sits in my cellar than the scrap pile.
