New FS1 ECM troubles

Cant help on the issue either as I dont have SKIM. WranglerFix has a number of good reviews lately, though take it for what its worth because each review is a newish member and I have yet to see one rack up any real mileage on their replacements.
Thanks!

Yep, I'm not surprised. Their customer service is non-existent. I suppose if worse comes to worse, you can always file a chargeback. Still, if it were me, I'd take it to a dealer or shop with the tools to make sure SKIM isn't enabled on it.

There's others on here in this thread who have bought replacement PCMs from FS1 without issue, so it may be worth posting in this thread too: Where to get a new or rebuilt PCM?
Thanks

Disregard Blaine, I think he might be bipolar (really). He's extremely helpful most of the time, but has good days and bad days. It seems that someone may have pissed in his Cheerios this morning. He's on every Jeep Forum out there, so I don't think you'll escape him, you just have to learn to ignore him. I'm saying this because his demeanor in this thread doesn't reflect the atmosphere or attitude of the majority of people on this forum.

What you could do is take your ECM to a dealer that has the tool to access it and have them check to see is SKIM is enabled or not. Have you thought about doing that?
That's all fine and dandy but if he was getting the help he was after he wouldn't have had to ask "Anybody?", now would he?

Take your bipolar and shove it up your ass. My good days and bad days are fully predicated upon the attitude and willingness of those requesting or needing it to ask for it. If you want help, it doesn't take much to get it, just ask.

Iirc @mrblaine has a client who bought one from WranglerFix and said it works. I doubt it's many miles yet just due to how new it is.

I'm debating buying one to save my wife's working 05 ECU as a spare but I also don't know the future of this engine and if it'll get supercharged or not (right now just enjoying it as is).

Trying to decide whether to take the new PCM to the dealer that route or send it back to FS1 to check it

Will FS1 refund your purchase? If they will, it might be worth doing that and then giving Mark a call at Wranglerfix. I can't help with the SKIM info as I don't have that feature and don't really know anything about it. I do know that Wrangler fix used a different PCM than the one that came in the Jeep. He has mentioned that he can disable the SKIM feature. It doesn't have a lifetime warranty, but a 1 year warranty. You can get a 2 year warranty at additional cost, which I did. I have around 700 miles on mine and so far no issues. But as I said, no SKIM on my Jeep.

There is a member on WF who has been trying to get FS1 to refund as his replacement didnt work. IIRC hes been at it for over two weeks with them.

Damn. I hope they can work it out.

they will but I think I'm going to send it back so they can test it make sure that the skim is disabled and try it one more time

You can always file a chargeback if necessary, but I doubt it will come to that. What I've come to understand is that it's simply their customer service / delivery time that sucks.

Hi group I need support in regards of a Jeep wrangler 2006 Manual 2.4 with a ECM, I changed for a plug and play but I realize its 4.0, will this be the problem my jeep doesn't run? I changed crank shaft, cam shaft, battery is full charge and new plug coils

If you put a PCM for a 4.0 in your 2.4 Jeep, I’d guess there would be compatibility problems.

Call Mark at @Wranglerfix . I got a PCM from him back in August. So far a little over 700 miles with no problems. I was having hard shifts from 1 to 2 in my 42RLE transmission.

Reports on another Jeep forum of someone who recently bought an FS1 PCM that failed after 300 miles. They totally ignored him on his warranty claim. He filed a credit card chargeback. Wrangler Fix is the way to go.

I have a recent PCM from FS1. Shipping was a nightmare — and as has been mentioned here — customer service is non-existent. Went so far as to issue me a "tracking number" that was just them clicking a pre-paid USPS Priority Mail carton. Didn't ship for nearly another week.

Having said that, my SKIM was disabled. Module still physically installed, just ignored by the PCM.
