New Guy With Questions

As far as the build sheet stated, it had a manual originally. Someone or PO put the auto in because the TC or front driveshaft came apart and did some damage. So..... here we are with the 42 RLE and the proper 241 t case.
I took the center panel off, got the lower switch panel out and there was a plug not being used next to the locker switch. 4 wire flat plug that looks like it will be the OD off harness according to what I see on the back of the OD switches I see online. The block off plug for the other 3 plugs were never messed with judging by thye amount of dirt in all the little crannies.
Am I at least pretty close to assuming that is the OD harness?

That’s the plug for the OD if it was directly next to the locker switch. It should be white.

FYI I did a manual-to-auto swap as well and while my OD plug was there, most of the wiring terminated at the plug in the driver footwell and didn’t go to the PCM. I had to add all of this myself. You’ll need to see if that’s the case for you or there’s no point in adding the switch unless you’re up for the wiring.

That said, I do have an extra OD switch and pigtail if you want it for the cost of shipping. It’s just been sitting in a box of parts from the swap.

The O/D switch causes no problems. My TJ is geared correctly for 35's so I rarely need to turn the Overdrive off, I rarely even touch it.

I just wonder if that is what is behind its’ absence- stock gearing- at the same time I’m not sure you can straight wire it to be off any way.

I dont think it was ordered with the hardtop, its not on the build sheet. Only mention about tops was the soft top. So I had no rear defrost or wiper switches. Only switch I had was the lockers and , 3 blanks in that panel. The only harness not used was locked in the blank next to the locker switch.

Thanks I will do some checking on the wiring, but its a white plug that was next to the locker switch

Yep that should be it. Defrost is a similar style plug, but it’s darker like seen on the far left. You can also verify using the FSM and matching the wire colors.
