I feel you on the NorthEast Jeep prices. Granted it was back in 2019, but it was cheaper or very close in price for me to buy my 1998 TJ out of California and have it shipped to CT, than to buy a rusty POS near my state. I strongly suggest looking nationwide for TJs and focusing on areas where road salt isn't an issue. Don't let the mileage scare you either, my non-rust belt TJ has close to 170k on it now, and it is cleaner underneath than my 2019 Grand Cherokee daily driver.
