I feel you on the NorthEast Jeep prices. Granted it was back in 2019, but it was cheaper or very close in price for me to buy my 1998 TJ out of California and have it shipped to CT, than to buy a rusty POS near my state. I strongly suggest looking nationwide for TJs and focusing on areas where road salt isn't an issue. Don't let the mileage scare you either, my non-rust belt TJ has close to 170k on it now, and it is cleaner underneath than my 2019 Grand Cherokee daily driver.

It was I absolutely loved mine it was a one owner bought it with 35k miles. However with a baby on the way and my sister, who I would take on spirited rides, she bought the same year and color as my s2k so I decided to sell it. Also as time has gone on there’s nothing more fun these days than the jeep in my opinion between offroad, beach, etc. it’s fun for the whole family. So u could say I’m looking for a TJ to replace that s2k

I'm with you on that. I bought an LJR because I got a good deal (under $10,000 about 15 Jeeps ago) and sold it a few weeks later. The "great ride" compared to a TJ was marginal at best. They look fine lifted on 35s minimum. In stock form they look like a midget with a fat ass to me. 🤫
Two stock LJs.

I know a couple of dudes that would have a have a field day with those two 😂

I always felt the same about LJ’s and still do if they are on 31’s, 32’s, 33’s, or 35’s, but on 37’s they looked right.

I do think the rear axle should have been further back from the factory, but who am I?!

Objectively the LJ is certainly bigger with more storage room & if someone needs that it makes the choice a no brainer, also while I've never wheeled one I'm given to understand from years of reading on the forum that they do bring advantages over the TJ in many capability respects.

My comments were purely aesthetic in nature, and at least in my case that's all that really matters because in my now 10 year run with this ride I've never had occasion to need all of the storage space the TJ has, much less more, as it's essentially relegated to carting my sub 140lb ass around town with no more than my phooooooone & occasional passenger, and while I enjoyed wheeling it for a few years earlier on it's a dedicated street machine now so offroad capability remains irrelevant to me. When I did wheel it, it was far more capable than my limited talents were able to exploit.

@Westtown Willy dont discredit yourself... I remember when your ambition overcame the jeeps abilities hahaha.

A TJ 100% looks more aesthetically pleasing in it's natural state IMHO.

And if you don't need the space or extra wheeling capability then a TJ is the natural choice. They are much more plentiful too!

Then why spend the extra dough on a Rubicon? The hood stickers? You are overpaying for the deeper transfer case, factory lockers and dana 44s if you're not doing technical off roading. Just my .02

I only bought my Rubicon because I got it for $9500 back when it was worth $14,000. I had sold my previous 00' Sahara for $9,000 a few days earlier and still had the cash on me.

Never know what I’ll end up doing down the road with it, plus doesn’t hurt to have something a little special. I have a rubicon now and I wheel it pretty hard, who’s to say I wont end up doing the same with my future TJ lol

Oh boy, fresh meat.

Skip to the LJ, which you'll eventually want anyway .

Welcome to the forum

Nope..... Wrong.... Other than that added storage space...

A stretched WB TJ is the ticket.... Just ask Woodrow....

Whatever you do, don't rush to buy one. These things can turn into money pits very fast if you buy one that hasn't been well kept and maintained.
