No need, I am intimately familiar with both items.
If your brother in law is an electrician he probably doesn’t come across too many “spare moments “.
If it was my brother in law he would need steaks and Guinness to get a welder receptacle installed
He's one of the owners of the company and they're currently renovating and old shop to turn into their home base about 2 minutes from my house!
He mainly does the bidding and quick jobs now while another crew or two handle the bigger jobs. Plus, I don't care where the outlet is, so we're just going to stick it right by the panel without ever having to go into the crawl, should be 30 minutes or less.
I put my 240 outlet right next to the box which is on the outside wall next to the main shop door. I spent big $$ and bought a 25’ 8ga extension cord. This allows me to weld in most of the shop and anything parked outside. Works real good when I need to repair one of my equipment trailers.
I was talking to him at family dinner last night about what size extension because the main power cable is 10ga. Then my father-in-law says "oh I have one I made when my friend was doing some welding for me." He went out to the garage and brought in a 25-30' 10ga welder extension cord and he doesn't have a welder and has no use for it. I live next door to my in-laws, so I walked home with it

Cart and welder all set up just waiting on gas (picking up this morning) and power.
Also a picture of the table setup. Still need to order some locking casters so it will fit over the box behind it.
And I picked up this light at Costco for like $25 the other day. It's made by (let's be real, "for") KC. Both ends are magnetic and swivel 360 degrees. It also has hooks on both ends for hanging and has several different power settings. Pictures never really represent a light because the camera adjusts, but it's bright and casts a large light spread.

Many years ago I went to Home Depot to purchase some 6 gauge 3 conductor x 30 feet to build a welder extension cord. Per the rules back then, an associate had to measure, cut, and tag the wire so you could get it through check out. It was 2 bucks a foot or some silly nonsense but I needed it. The cashier looked at the tag and rung it up as 1 foot and the associated price. I had her stop and check the tag because that is the price per foot, not the total. She got snotty with me and told me not to tell her how to do her job. I asked again, she got more indignant. I gave in and let her do her job, albeit very poorly. Still use it to this very day.
$5 EA on Amazon...wish they had a metric hex.
Also bought a Coats 10-10 tire machine for cheap. Mostly going to use it to debead tires we recovered from the woods. Recycle the rims.

Out here in Ca now a HD associate carries the wire to the cashier and watches you pay for it. I bought a 500’ spool of #2 a while back and it was like getting out of a Swiss bank vault. You’re not going to get #6 cord for $2 any more.
Prolly near $8/ft now. And that’s outside of Ca.
Imma gonna call local supply and ask how much to cut 15’.

Went to Harbor Freight today because they were having free tools with purchase again.
No buckets for free this time, but they had an Icon 10mm sockets set for free.
I went for some caution tape, carpentry string and another pair of gloves.
The string and tape is for marking the property line between me and the neighbors who just sold their house. Wanted to make sure the new owners know where the line runs. They kinda lost some driveway,
