All Japanese power sports machines are that way. I screwed up many JIS screws on quads as a kid before I knew that was a thing!
Most things made by Shimano use JIS.
My wife was cleaning up my work bench after we finished building her a bike and she asked me...
"What are Jizz drivers?"
What?
"Hosen Jizz driver. what is that?"
Hozan Jay-Eye-Ess driver. it's a Japan specific kind of Phillips.
"... Hose and Jizz, heh-heh"
Facepalm.
Still I count myself lucky to have a partner who enjoys working on things with me.

If that were the case, it would probably have graduations in it, as well. That way you can see what's what, and then lie about the measurement, later...

We may have accidentally discovered an untapped market. Time to start R&D on the HogHolder 1000™ and get them to market. Hog Heater and Hog O' Meter add-ons sold separately, of course.

Ordered a Lock N Lube coupler for my grease gun last night. Supposed to be here today. Maybe that will help get some grease into some fittings?
Let us know how it works - I've had one in my cart for years...
Buy it. Worth every penny! I thought I had greased things the other day, but apparently didn't get much in them. I swapped it on as soon as I got home from work and properly greased the whole front of my Jeep in about a minute or two. Like could actually hear the grease going in and see the boot swell. No cussing even! Don't even think about it, just buy it!

Got one myself, i really like it. My only negative points for the lock n lube is it's a bit bulkier than your standard grease gun tip. I swapped to a different style nipple for my upper front control arms because the lock n lube won't fit.
What I highly recommend getting to compliment the lock n lube is this needle style grease gun tip. It works great for reaching the flush style nipple (see below) for the swivel ball in my double cardan or the grease nipple for the axle side u-joints because the Lock n lube wont quite fit.
True, it is a little bulkier. I didn't find that to be an issue on anything I greased tonight so far, but could see it being a problem if you were in tight spaces.
