Do big ass pulleys count as tools or does belong in some daily recovery gear post...after yesterday's recovery...see my Operation Phoenix post...and not having enough snatch blocks...picked these up a Tractor Supply.

Nope. This is all for the truck and hard shackles. Truck still has synthetic rope and a old Warn 12k winch converted to an Amazon contactor and a cheap $15 remote.

"Basic" recovery gear in the Jeep. Unstick or flip someone or pull a tree out of the way.

"Heavy" recovery in the truck. Stuff rolled down embankments. RVs. Trucks. Stuff that needs a lot of captive pulleys to get moving.

Decided to do the opposite here. Tired of spending a half hour packing and unpacking tools each trip. … and there was a buy more save more sale, lol.

Yeah I have a dedicated kit. It stays with the Jeep. Short of a few specialized tools it's proven enough to pull an engine, transmission and swap a crankshaft.

I added my electric rachet, calipers, torque wrench, needed a crank pulley remover and installer.

I augment the basic kit based on how much trouble I think I'm getting into.

Nice, I paid a bit more for the 3/8, but got the 1/2" set for that.

I almost feel like I could get away with an SAE set for the LJ, but most of the guys I do the big trips with have newer rigs, and they tend to break more than mine
