yea, ya's gots a point! In any event, I actually had cause to use it today - and for light tapping like tapping on a wood chisel, this thing is NICE!

Noticed Home Depot was running a deal that I couldn't pass up. Now I have something for when my DCF921 starts to struggle plus my first Powerstack battery! Came out to around $215 after tax.

I had an old 40s model craftsman that belonged to my grandfather, but had sat in a barn for years. I restored it several years ago to like-new condition, but since I'm not doing woodwork like I used to, gave it to my brother-in-law and nephews last year to free up some space. Every now & then, however, I wish I still had it and my planer around for a project or two.

Not a new tool, but new tool organizer. Found some pliers racks on Vine, so ordered them up. Came in today and I threw one in real quick before I had to leave to see if it would fit. I wish I'd have done this much sooner! Now, I just need to get some quality pliers . (kind of kidding... The orange handled Craftsman are from the good era and the blue handled Irwin's are nice. But I still need more to replace the non-pictured junk)

Yes - It's the helical. It is supposed to be a much cleaner cut and more forgiving of grain direction. I recently swapped a helical into my thickness planer, and that was a night and day difference.

I also did the thickness planer first then the jointer. Made an incredible difference in performance.

Oh for sure! We had some white oak that was just screaming its way thru the planer when I decided to convert it.

Ok had to make a trip to pick up 4x4's and 2" cap blocks to install the back steps.

Now we probably have 5 corded 7 1/4" saws, but why waste an opportunity to stop by Harbor Freight and pick up a Hercules 20v saw????????

The checkout lady ask me if I needed a blade, showed her on the box it said professional blade included and that it was a good thing I wasn't professional..........

Went to HF to grab a new deadblow, the $14 fuel transfer pump everyone seems to praise and some free 10mm sockets.

Decided to grab the small Apache case to see if my smoke tester would fit.

Looks like it'll work just fine. Going to leave it like this until I'm not feeling lazy, then maybe I'll pluck the foam. Maybe not though. Has foam on bottom and foam on the lid. Should be just fine for this application and protects/holds up way better than the cardboard box it came in. And for $9 on sale, I can't complain.

Word of caution on the transfer pump. Don't let it suck air if possible. It will burn out if you let it go long.

Thanks for the info. My primary plan is to use it to fill my riding mower when my 5 gal cans are full.... I keep dumping fuel all over the garage doing it the old fashioned way, so figured I'd give this a shot. Otherwise, it will get limited use for other stuff.

I recently decided my plan is to switch to a 55 gallon drum or some other tank to store gasoline. I'll attach an electric pump to it and use that to fill my mowers, generator, etc. I go through 50+ gallons a year mowing, so it'll be easier than going to the gas station to fill up my 5gal cans every time I run them dry. At that point, this thing will likely only get used a time or two a year at most.

I like your idea. 5 gallon fuel cans are getting heavier

I have found with ours, if the can is on the ground and I'm pumping up high, it tends to leak.

I put the can up high now and run the pump.

The pump I'm using is probably 5 years old and used for gas and diesel both so that could be part of the problem also.
