HR 7008 also includes a weak attempt at Voter ID. Probably no need to worry as it will likely die in the Senate.
The fine for insider trading is $2k or 10% of the transaction, that isn't harsh enough IMO. It also lets them keep the current stocks they have and doesn't prohibit trading in a blind trust, pretty weak and mostly for optics.

Senator Says Lincoln Nautilus Production Moving To U.S.

As many are already aware, production of the previous-generation Lincoln Nautilus ended in Canada some time ago, after which production of the current-generation model - which debuted for the 2024 model year - shifted to China. That has recently become a bit of a problem for The Blue Oval amid a push to ban all Chinese connected vehicle hardware and software from the U.S. The software used in the Lincoln Nautilus is developed in the U.S., but it's installed in China, meaning Ford needs government approval to continue selling the luxurious crossover stateside.
As such, in a recent interview with Reuters, U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno stated that Ford has agreed to move Lincoln Nautilus production to the U.S., adding that General Motors will also shift production of the Buick Envision from China to the states for the 2028 model year. This comes after the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee approved legislation that aims to toughen an existing ban on Chinese automakers from entering the U.S. market.
Ford has long supported efforts to ban Chinese vehicles from the U.S., so this comes as little surprise, but it's still huge news, regardless. However, it remains to be seen what U.S. plant it might shift Lincoln Nautilus production to, nor what will happen with the Lincoln Corsair, which is set to return to the lineup in 2027. As Ford Authority previously reported, the Corsair was also slated to be built in China and exported to the U.S., though now, that very well may change.
We've already seen one casualty of this shifting regulation, as Volvo's Polestar brand recently announced that the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security opted to not grant it an authorization under the current Connected Vehicle Rule, meaning that it will be forced to exit that market, though it will continue to sell existing stock of Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 models in the U.S., and offer support as well. Regardless, 94 percent of Polestar's volume has thus far come from outside of the U.S., so that market isn't a huge loss for the Geely-owned company, at least.

Interesting that he doesn't say that it will benefit humanity. It will, however, greatly benefit his corporations and, of course, his wealth.
What it will also do is put wages in the toilet, since there will be fewer jobs for the ever increasing number of working age people.
