Been trying to figure out why the IC, A/C and shifter lights do not work. Multifunction switch has been swapped out and all external lights work. Dimmer controls seem to work as the odometer brightens and find when I turn the dimmer wheel on the MF switch. So I started tracing things out using the FSM procedure and no issues with continuity or grounds. I started reading around and found that some people had problems with a burnt out trace in the IC. I took it apart and sure enough, one of the traces is indeed burned out. I saw where some people soldered jumpers back in but the don’t correspond to the same location on my IC board. Thinking of going ahead and soldering some thin wire in place of the burned out locations but wanted to see if anyone else had some thoughts on approach?

The question you need to ask yourself is WHY did this happen ?
Was it caused by a design flaw in the circuit traces, was it due to a component gone bad, was it due to the illumination and other components drawing too many amps ??
Check the condition of the pins and clips on the BUSS connectors and the instrument cluster and connector wiring for signs of oxidation or overheating.
I suspect that IF you solder in jumper wiring; you will move the problem to the next weakest link.
You need to find out why this happened.

I have thoroughly inspected the pins and connectors. They all look good. This jeep has been pulled apart and put back together (poorly) by the PO so there is no telling the root cause. I suspect it may be due to a bad MFS (which I replaced) or the upgraded projection headlights the PO installed.
My real question is whether this burnt out trace could be causing the illumination not to work? I have read other people putting in jumpers to fix this issue but the focus seems to be on a different area of the board.

I would think that those burned traces should.... only impact the instrument cluster lights, but generally when a trace burns like that... too much load is being applied from somewhere.
You can inspect the wiring harnesses for the MFS and see if something is spliced in that shouldn't be, but it will not cause the burnt traces.
