I just purchased a 1999 Jeep Wrangler TJ. Got it Home and started cleaning it up when all of a sudden when I turn on the key I got nothing. Dash lights would come on but nothing else. I called the previous owner and asked him if he had ever had that problem and he said try pumping the clutch a couple of times. I did that and then it would start up OK but is there something in the Clutch system that is causing this? Is there some kind of switch somewhere?

Yep, clutch safety switch to assure your clutch is depressed while starting in case you're still in gear. You can test it by by-passing it. Put a 10amp fuse in slot 20 (I think it's 20) and that will by pass the switch. if it starts then replace the by-pass switch.
