I bought an 06 TJ about a month ago to work on while using as a daily. I put about 1000 miles on it since I bought it.
I was making my way down the list of maintenance today and to my surprise there was no fluid in my transfer case to drain. immediately filled it up with fluid.
My TJ was running fine and it still does. The magnet on the plug was clean & I'm able to put it in to 4wd w/o problem.
Honestly I'm not sensing a huge difference before/after fluid fill up. It's now sitting in my driveway with a cardboard under it to see if there's a leak but should I be looking into anything to make sure there is no damage from the empty transfer case - or should I consider myself lucky?
