2001 I bought my first 98 TJ after that 3 more TJ's (always one at the time)
always with 33 tires, I like the way they look and the way they drive.

Finally I got a LJ, I have a set of 33 tires so didn't think about it much I just put them on
and I like the way drives, but the look didn't convince me,
I want to find a side-by-side 33-35 picture could not find it
Oh this weekend my friend is working on his Jeep
and he had his 35 x 12.5r15 just laying around

So what do you think 33 or 35??

35's for sure with LJ's (edit for Chris: TJ Unlimited). That said, make sure you are not just putting tires on it. Things such as gears, brakes and upgraded steering are all on the table for this. You can usually get away without some of that on 33's. I suggest hitting up the Resources section on here regarding what is needed for 35's.

For looks and offroad capability, 35's. If you don't need hardcore offroad capability, I'd consider going with 33's since 5.13 gears are the max you can go with that 04 automatic.

I bought the jeep with that lift so I don't know but my guess is 3 inches
But I think I need 1 or 2 inches more
I don't know to upgrade the lift or just go with 1 inch body lift

Not a fan of Bodylift
For 35" tires, 5" of additional clearance over stock is recommended for offroading. That can be accomplished by a 4" suspension lift plus a 1" or 1.25" body lift. For 33's that could be done with a 3" SL plus 1-1.25" BL.

Chris

I made a checklist out of your information hope you don't mind

Lift Kit (5" to 6" of lift)
need. 1 inch Bodylift

Slip Yoke Eliminator (SYE) & Double Cardan (CV) Drive Shaft
I don't remember where I read that The LJ doesn't need it

Wheels & Tires
Give my friend back his 35s and run my 33's at least until I upgrade the gears 5.13

Stock TJ Axles
Dana 30. Just hope for the best

Gears
5.13 revolution (backorder)

Steering
ZJ tie rod conversion.

Brakes
is there a Big Break Kit for 15' wheels ???

Depending on what style and brand wheels you are running, you may be able to run the 16" Big Brake Kit on your 15" wheels.

I sent Blaine a picture of my wheels before I ordered the kit and he informed me I could probably run the larger kit and be fine. Glad I took his advice.

You only need a 4" lift kit + 1" BL to get the 5" needed

Thank's everybody I really appreciate the help...

I compared my suspension to my friends 4 inch lift. ....I do have a 4 inch so I'm just going to install the 1 inch body lift
is there one better than the other one oh they're all the same?
