If the pads work out, make a few sets. I’d buy some for sure.
I made the stand just using 2x6 wood that I drilled with the correct shaft hole. I double stacked as needed and screwed to the table. Easy works fine.
Made myself a shaft puller for the case today at work. Once I have it out I'll measure and weld the 2 ends to the puller and cut off the excess. Ill also make my wooden jig once its out so i can get proper measurements for that as well. Ill poat more photos as I tear down.I made the stand just using 2x6 wood that I drilled with the correct shaft hole. I double stacked as needed and screwed to the table. Easy works fine.
I wish I had enough space for a lathe & a mill...and for enough stock to build what I need. I was the "machinist" in the physics shop in college, which which I mean one of the profs showed me how to do basic stuff and told me to figure out the rest, and they paid me to build stuff when I wasn't in class. I loved it, and I miss it.
Hell yeah brother. I work as a machinist and on Fridays, bossman goes to lunch and never comes back lol. Needless to say not much gets done after that work wise

Yeah definitely, I'm pretty positive it's gonna work. The other gentleman has had them in since April and doesn't have any problems. Have you had to dig into this project yet? I'm all ears for tips and tricks.
I'm in the middle of this now - just reassembled the countershaft and mainshafts today and tackling the shifter on Monday. I'm trying the 231 pads in the middle, and found some adhesive that supposedly will even adhere teflon. We'll see.
Brass pads would be great, so if those go anywhere someone please let me know - I won't get this back in until probably July 4 week, so if they are coming before that I'd love to get a set and I'll just keep the tranny open...

Don't bother with the glue. If the slots are done just right those pads can't come out.
The wood stand is about like mine. I just used a press for everything. Worked great. Takes are pretty decent pass through on the press because of the gear size, it is doable.
Don't forget the C clips I forgot one and gave the press all the beans. Got to 25 Ton on the gauge before I knew something was wrong.
Doesn’t help that I bought A 78 F150 that I’ve been restoring at the same time. Too many projects
