I plan to send my TJ in to the paint shop for some paint work. The fender flares are original and would benefit from replacement. I'm considering having the paint shop install the new set of fender flares, and also painting the new fender flares black. I'm hoping this will prevent fading issues in the future. I believe the new fender flares will need to be the primed, or at least not the textured fender flares. I think I've found a set of factory style fender flares from Extreme Terrain that will work. Have you had success painting a set of OEM style fender flares to replace the old, faded flares?

This forum is flooded with information. A quick search can often find the answer you're looking for, and then some. More specifically, the How To section has most of it. If you aren't already doing reading threads over there, good idea to check it out and build you own "know how" when it comes to our Jeeps. Here's a head start:

I painted mine. I recommend SEM products. If you add a clear-coat, it lasts pretty well (depending upon how you treat them). But some prefer to just replace them for about $125, last I checked.
