OME springs

hey guys, I have a 4" spring lift on my 97 jeep tj . the springs are from rough country and were on the jeep when i bought it. Well I just found some OME springs for a 4" lift and they are brand new OME939 and OME946 are the part numbers. and the price is 175.00 for all 4 springs. is that a great deal on these springs ?? and are the OEM springs SOOO much better than the rough country that I should buy these springs and change out the RC springs.?? The RC springs were put on 03/13/13

Are the RC providing the ride height you want? If you measure them at ride height, you can determine their actual lift. Factory was 12" front, 8" rear. Anything more is lift.

IMO, the OME 4" coils are short and stiff and are unlike their popular 2" coils. That being said, the significant majority of the ride quality comes from shocks, not springs.

What are you hoping to achieve by changing springs?

I guess as far as springs go , the ease of flexibility with the strength to maintain 4" of lift. ill go measure the springs as they sit now. my shocks are good for now im happy with them and the ride/

Flip your numbers. 4.25" front, 3" rear. Is that what you want?

The Jeep originally had some rake from the factory. Your RC springs aren't providing that.

not really sure what rake is. but from the measurements it seems like its off about an inch. its looks level . ill run out there and put a level on the rocker guards

Just like a pickup truck, the Jeep was originally a bit high in the rear to account for cargo or passengers. I set mine up to keep some of that rake after I lifted it. Others will work to get the Jeep level, not realizing that when they climb inside or carry passengers, it will lean or squat as they roll down the highway.

What is the proper way to measure ride height?

With the jeep sitting on flat ground measure the space between spring seats. Take note of any thick spacers that might be there so you can account for what is springs vs spacer.
