Overheating at idle - what is it?

Agreed, but my jeep does live in the garage and will never see -10F. I'll stay home and enjoy adult beverages

If you get out, it will be fine while driving around. It would only be an issue when parked and left for a while in those temperatures
 
I ran 70/30 in my classic for years since it will never get down to 7F here in Phoenix. I eventually bumped that up to 50/50 for the added corrosion protection and didn’t see any difference in cooling ability during the summer.

I ran 60% coolant in my current setup for more corrosion protection and the radiator worked well enough that my temps didn’t go up.

I originally got the refractometer so I could run as much water as possible in the TJ’s turbo intercooler without having freezing problems when visiting the white mountains in the winter.
 
If you have a scan tool that can read the PCM and chart everything the PCM does a calculation to estimate cat temperatures. My rear is showing 1600 degrees at normal driving which is insane. Knocking the guts out of all 3 of them Friday. That being said you should look for a way with or without a scan tool to check temperatures.

I hated the awful sound with all three cats removed. It was beyond terrible.

I still have all the factory cats on my 2006. Its only at 54,000 miles so I haven't crossed that bridge yet. What was the final fix?
 
Oh shit what did you do to fix it? Should I just do the fronts?

Sorry on the road. I run the front pre-cats. Doing so also removed the toxic smell I forgot to mention about when running no cats.

This setup was a little lower pitched and raspier than stock. I liked the Magnaflow muffler. I removed it to go with a bigger setup for the turbo or it would still be on there.

So I am leaning on Mike024 suggestion of just replacing the front cats. Are there any other options or suggestions from the team? I really dont want it to be irritatingly loud or obnoxious smelling. If I ever rebuild it Ill re-evaluate the exhaust system but what are your thoughts I am all over on this.
 
Looking at this to replace both front cats. Magnaflow Front Cats Are the cheap ones ok or am I looking for problems and repeating this exercise down the road? Every time I go cheap I pay the price later.
 
well in case it benefits anyone else it appears to have been the B1O2 sensor. It never once threw a code but with the scan tool hooked up we charted the old one several times and it was flat lining not reacting at all. Somehow and I am not sure this was driving a lean condition. I put in the new O2 sensor and ran it down the road charting it again and it was reading and reacting just like the other three. Cat temps have come down a little but are no longer over 1600 degrees. Crazy part is for some reason the B2O2 sensor is the one that kept throwing codes. This whole thing has kind of dumbfounded me.
