P0335 bucking, erratic RPM and stalling

I got p0335 crankshaft position sensor and p0300 random/multiple cylinder misfire detected codes. I was having idle high at 1100rpm and random bucking. I replaced the CKP with an NTK from RockAuto. Unplugged the negative battery cable for a couple hours. Jeep started and idled along at 700-800Rpm. Went back out to the Jeep to find it had shutoff. Restarted it and took for a spin. The bucking came back and I gained stalling. The check engine is back with only P0335.

Do I hunt for a Mopar KPS or try something else?

‘06 Sport 6 speed with 170,000 miles.

Check the wiring.

Unplug the crank sensor and run it on the cam sensor only. It will be a long crank to start. If it runs OK, get another crank sensor.

If it's still doing it, the PCM may be going.

I did order a mopar sensor which will hopefully be here by the weekend.
 
You can also run it on just the crank sensor, to verify a bad cam sensor isn't screwing with things.

Very long crank but started with the CKP unplugged.

The Mopar one arrives on Monday.
 
Thanks for the follow up report. I’m having the exact same symptoms, I’ll try without the sensor and order the Mopar replacement

Update: Long start with good idle when the sensor is unplugged. I’ll order the Mopar and post result here.

@Msams89 what sensor p/n did you buy, and where did you find it?

I bought on eBay. Got robbed at $69.95 but it was new and unopened.

Mopar 04727451AA

I think there might be a few different model numbers that are interchangeable by I can’t be certain on that.

I've been on this forum a hot minute, and I've never heard of this trick before. How long a crank are we talking about?
