Trying to get the throwout bearing changed this weekend, also have the pilot bearing. I am not replacing the clutch.
Can I remove and replace the existing clutch without a clutch alignment tool? No one near me has one and I have to leave town on Sunday evening for an extended time. Need to have it done and reassembled by midday Sunday.
Thanks

Unless the clutch is very new anyways, I would replace it just considering how much work it is, the cost, and that your are in there already. I understand time crunch though.

The clutch alignment tool is simple, but there is a step at the nose that fits into the pilot bearing then gets bigger to imitate the splines of the transmission input shaft. I'm sure you can make something work, but it's not as simple as just finding a socket the same size as the friction disc hole.
