Piss & Moan Table

Pro tip, nearly every hotel has a restroom in/near the lobby.

But, you really put the piss in piss and moan.

Glad you made it.

True but then he has to leave his dinner somewhere unattended or bring it into the bathroom with him, which is just weird.

My wife has pretty terrible insurance (makes sense she’s an RN at a hospital 🙄).

She contacts a company about a medical test. She is told the max it will be is $400. A bill shows up today for $651. She calls and they explain “the $400 is if you self pay. This was ran through insurance and they didn’t cover any of it so it will be $651”.

Complete bullshit.

World's greatest healthcare system at work 🙄

My son broke his arm playing at Little League.
LL insurance covered the medical expenses but they would send the checks to me and in my name.
Every check would be for quite a bit less than what was billed.
I took those insurance checks and endorsed them over to whomever was owed and that was the end of it.
None of the medical providers ever questioned me with "where's the rest of it"

Medical fees are negotiable. Cash is always better for the medical provider. Prices are inflated because insurance companies pay pennies on the dollar. That’s why a band-aide costs $50. Call their accounts receivable department and offer the $400. Bet they take it.
PS: Don’t scream at them. Talk calmly.

Our AC gave out. Thankfully after the temps broke, but the humidity was 85-90%. The company that installed our new furnace last year couldn't come out for 3 days. The thermostat they installed with the furnace was bad and couldn't run the AC.

They put in a temp thermostat and the AC is on. The temps are in the 80s-90s, but running the AC dropped our inside humidity from 68% to 35-40% with the help of our dehumidifiers.

85 F and 89% humidity in the house blows.

It killed me. I researched it. Found the issue. Could have rewired it with an old thermostat. But it was under warrenty, so I sweated it out and let them, "fix it".

This getting old shit sucks. Had a 3 hour dance workshop yesterday, beat the crap out of me. I used to be able to go to dance classes all damn day! Fun workshop though - learned a lot.

Could be worse, in VA/DC for work. I’m still sweating from my run 2hrs ago, crappy hotel AC can’t keep up and office buildings set for “energy efficiency cooling”

End of this trip didn’t get any better…3hr runway delay flying into Chicago to meet my family and this morning we woke to to a canceled flight home, no reason given. On the plus side, we used our Chase credit card, $500 in lodging and meal coverage per ticket. We had a great sushi dinner and a nice set of hotel rooms in downtown Chicago. Go Cubbies

I hate flying through Chicago. Ever. Especially O'Hare.

I've never been on time through O'Hare.

Which airline?

The problem with ORD is that if there is lightning within 10 miles of the airport. I’ve had several delays there because of this and if I have a layover on my itinerary I make sure it’s at least 2 hours. Been burned before. Don’t get me started with “We have to wait or turn for deicing”.

I was guessing United or Southwest

I haven't flown United since a circle-jerk of EPIC proportions in Y2K. Never have had much problem at all with SW, and used to love Continental before they got sucked up by United. Delta is "Ok", but nothing extra - American is sub-par.

United really started to suck after merging with Continental but I find them better now. American used to be my go to airline but the last few yrs they have gone down hill. I tolerate SW because they are cheap and I can fly out local and not use LAX. I love Alaska and fly them first but they have limited destinations. KLM and BA are fantastic to fly on. I don’t fly as much as I used to and only take about 12 flights a year now. No matter which airline flying has become like taking the bus. I’ve learned to dress nice and get upgraded to first class often. I treat gate agents and flight attendants with respect and make sure to acknowledge them for their work. i’m appalled by the way many people dress and act on planes these days.

United sucked the chrome off of trailer hitches before they merged with Continental - its hard to imagine their getting worse! I've only flown Alaska once, but was impressed. BA was nice last time I flew them back in 2002. I too treat the employees nicely - they're harried as it is and have a hard job! As for dressing, I always wear a skirt - makes those horrid seats a bit more comfy.
