This just popped up on my feed. The first one leaves you feeling a bit funky so makes the rest hard to watch (though the rest are all pretty entertaining).

Just, put those harnesses and belts on when you are doing stupid stuff, boys!

Even without "adult beverages" or excessive speeds for conditions, a reminder that overhead mounted comm radios or steel grab bars protruding can quickly result in becoming an organ donor. Crazy stuff people (almost always young men) do. Mine came with a steel Tuffy steel radio console with hard brain-buster corners installed, which soon after went to the landfill..

I rolled an Isuzu Trooper many years ago when my kids were tykes. I am told we did endos. When it came to rest (upright by the grace of God and - I believe - a literal if small miracle), a metal Craftsman tool box that I carried lose in the back was resting on the top of the back seat right between my two kids (who were strapped into seats).

Sometimes at night when I am lying in bed and I let my mind wander to past events in my life, I remember seeing that toolbox sitting there just inches away from their heads. I get cold chills and I and thank God that it did not come out worse than what it did.

He's lucky it didn't roll on top of him. I figure most people that are ejected were likely not wearing a seatbelt. So Darwinism waiting to happen. I used to be an EMT and saw plenty of people get killed or hurt badly because they weren't wearing a seatbelt. Though driving a car without a seatbelt is still safer than riding a motorcycle.

I was on my way to pickup my Jeep from Blaine and the SUV in front of me had a tire blow out. She over corrected the steering and began to roll at about 65mph, rolled probably around 10 times. 6 people in the SUV, 4 were ejected, one 18yo boy died when the SUV rolled on top of him.

I got to the point where I have seen enough flops and rollovers off road. I had a cage with harness bar installed. PRP seats with harnesses. Getting a cage is debatable. Though you can get a harness bar and seats without getting a full cage.

this is definitely true, but if we narrow the criteria a bit, I'd much rather be thrown from a motorcycle than ejected from a car during a rollover. I found a statistic that put the fatality rate at 77% for occupants ejected during a rollover consisting of 3 roof inversions.

True, but cars have seatbelts to prevent being ejected and airbags to help with impact. Whereas motorcycles have nothing.

absolutely. I'm just emphasizing the point that being ejected from a car is really really bad and not wearing a seatbelt is really really dumb.

I thought about door webbing to make sure I don't stick my hand out and try to push off a tree.

The more common injury is leaving an elbow out then ducking your head in to miss the tree. Pinching or scraping the elbow.

Rolling over it can be harder to keep your arms and head inside the roll cage.

Definitely cringe when I see someone sticking a hand out. Though I'll admit that I've been yelled at for doing the same. The more you like someone, the meaner the yell should be lol.

It's a natural reaction to falling. But rolling might be a reason to wear hand straps.
