Plug-and-play speaker upgrade?

OK, not to hijack but I just installed the $19 tweeters on the dash and it made a very big difference, centered the whole sound of the stereo system, very worth it. So my system is probably complete...total cost:$284.89

I am not complaining at all about the way it sounds, has great bass and good volume capability. What I might have done differently is get the front polk component speakers. Only thing I could do later if I want is go with a 5 channel amp to amp all the speakers. Sure an HS8 powered sub would be even nicer but I did not want to dump a ton into it. I can hear decent sound even with the top and half doors.

So how did you fasten the tweeters to the dash?

The tweeter had it's own inline resistor/crossover inline with the wiring, as does the polk although that is mounted on the speaker itself. I just dropped the dash speakers and cut and tapped into the crutchfield supplied adapter wires from the polk to run the wires to the tweeter. I don't like cutting a factory harnesses. Did not have to remove anything on the upper dash, there was plenty of room to fish the wires for the tweeter through the lower speaker opening. Thirty minutes start to finish.

Does the front speakers and the new tweeter both go through the crossovers or just the tweeters? Want to install mine tomorrow

2 years ago replaced the front dash, rollbar and center console subwoofer with infinity reference series speakers.
the sound quality is an insane difference from the crappy stock speakers, still using the 6 cd changer radio but can max it out and there is zero distortion .music is enjoyable in my TJ now.
a guy i work with sold and installed six figure home theaters and sound systems before he came to work at my employer and when i asked him for a recommendation, infinity was the first name he went to.
