All the shit done to my jeep has been my fault. The only exception was some fog lights they added to a small switch on the dash, just where my knee can hit...

Not sure what’s scarier. That the PO paid money for this bumper, winch, light comb or that I sold it all in 24hrs after taking it off.

I bought mine because of what the PO had done to it. it was less than 5 years old 19000km and had receipt's for half the asking price from ARB. still had a brand new original spare tire. I don't think it had ever been on a dirt road. I doubt they hade used the lockers the winch had never been unspooled.

Original owner sold the hard top for $400 because the window sticker listed it as a $700 option, so he thought $400 was a reasonable sale price (Jeep had both hard and soft tops from the factory).
I used that to negotiate a lower purchase price, then spent the $1500 I saved to get a replacement hard top.

I wish mine hadn't been crashed...just enough to bend the frame slightly, but not bad enough that its obvious.
I wish the PO had changed the oil in the front axle at least once...
In changing the front axle oil I discovered the existing oil was black, and the magnetic fill plug looked like a porcupine with all the metal sticking to it... So I changed the oil and I'm hoping it hangs in there while I gather up parts.

I guess I got off easy... Only "ragrets" were the poser RC springs and shocks. Those were the only mods other than the wheels and tires. RC stuff is long gone.
My regret is that I overpaid for the low miles, clean frame and so few awful mods that needed to be redone.
Can't really complain too much; for the price of $6k.
The inside of the Jeep smelled of mildew due to a old leaking Smitybilt soft top, the smell of cigarettes with many burn holes in the carpet, extremely dirty front and rear seat covers, several dehydrated french fries found the the ventilation ducting, badly sun damaged door panels with large cracks and the paint was badly oxidized, mismatched tires sizes and the headlights were different colors (Kelvin ratings).
IF all that wasn't bad enough.... I found a dried out used condom under the rear seat.
Now for the good.... there was no rust in the frame rails, the body was in good condition and All of those problems were easily taken care of with a thorough deep cleaning and several replacement parts.
Purchased this Jeep in San Diego, CA prior to moving to FL.
I test drove this stock Jeep for a 50 minute ride on the highway and playing in the dirt and the Jeep tested fine.
All the other Jeeps (8) that I test drove were $12-18K, off road modified and abused along with steering that drifted and driveline vibrations.

I bought mine because of the mods the previous owners had done, though I wish whoever did some of the electrical had been done a better job. It wasn't terrible, but as a recovering electrical engineer, it was far from great and nowhere near what I would have considered acceptable.

Honestly I bought BB because @AndyG was the PO and I knew how meticulous he was/is about things on his Jeeps.
