Possible heat soak issues?

I had a clogged pre-cat on 4.0 that was getting super hot. replaced my pre-cats and cat and that help immensely with my heat-soak issue. I did install the thermal barrier on the injector, one other thing you can try is running non-ethanol fuel if you can find some.

Yes ethanol fuel definitely contributes to it. Interesting on the pre-cats..

I also have discovered an exhaust leak that is blowing heat in the fuel rail area... I think my exhaust manifold gasket needs replaced. There is a space between the fuel rail and valve cover/ head that is below the intake and above the exhaust manifold, where the heat seems to be building up. Im thinking that when the hit engine is shut off and the fan stops blowing, that internal engine heat/exhaust is leaking up into this area and causing the vapor lock.

Has anyone replaced their exhaust/ intake gasket? How difficult is it and what’s involved?

Here is a picture of the area I was referring to... I actually found a tear in the vacuum hose that’s in the foreground, and I removed the air intake to get to it; but if you look you can see the area I was talking about ...

Yes. Just did this last month. It's very time consuming and accessing some of the nuts it's a PITA.

Out of curiosity, because I don’t want to have to wait for a Mopar part to come through the mail, would similar heat insulation tubing or tape from a parts store work ok?
