It did require angle grinding for the WRG fairlead. Stock with rollers was perfect.

I was thinking you could move it back far enough for those to be behind the bumper.
Maybe that puts the winch into the grill.
Worse case; you could notch the bumper, use countersunk bolts, or some other work around.

I don’t think sliding back far enough to have the front winch mount bolts behind the bumper is an option because it’s only about 5-1/2” from the grill to the back of the bumper, but notching the bumper or using countersunk bolts seems possible. Would countersunk bolts be strong enough? Maybe.

FWIW, its possible to use the stock front recovery hooks with most/many raised plates if you have an angle grinder:

Going down the list as I read them so someone else may have pointed this out but the rest of the world just swaps the hooks side for side so they don't have to grind.

Some do that - but it won't work if you have stock fogs.

And that works if you don't have stock foglites - or otherwise are using that location. There are also several very nice aftermarket hooks that will bolt right up either way as they're not as wide as the OEM with the offset holes.

Like I said, there certainly are some nice ones out there. I had these in-hand, 5 minutes with a grinder and Bob's your uncle! Look fine, work fine, what's not to like?

I don't think they make clips for the TJ tow hooks. The last ones I had were on a YJ where the mounting bolts are in line with the hooks rather than off to the side.
As far as the winch plate, if you use the flat one like the OP linked to, you don't have to grind or swap the hooks. I've got that exact same winch plate with a Quadrated wince that was on my last YJ and got swapped to the TJ when I bought it. I removed the Dagmar's* so I could mount a tow bar since I pull the thing behind my motor home.

* This ought to separate the kids from the adults.

Anyone use this winch plate https://www.quadratec.com/products/92122_2900_07.htm. or something similar you can recommend for mounting on a stock bumper? I have the Mopar “Stubby” end caps and I am satisfied with this setup for the time being. Would like to throw a Warn winch on as my first mod. I would also like to be able to keep my stock recovery hooks as well and on some raised winch plates I have seen on YouTube it’s not always feasible.

They're long gone. I would have taken them off at the same time as I removed the milk jugs even if I wasn't putting a tow bar on the Jeep 'cuz they're fugly.
One of these days I'll get around to ordering the flat end caps for the stock bumpers, but I have other stuff higher on the priority list right now...like a $450 furnace control module for my motor home. Getting to be the time of year where a working furnace is important to me.

This is actually a load-shedding control system so that I can run both a/c's in my 22-year-old 30-amp coach at the same time. The furnaces are just tied into it because of the thermostat. At least there's a replacement available now. I understand that there wasn't one for a few years until someone went to the effort of re-engineering the whole thing.
