Quiet mufflers

My TJ has a full Banks Monster exhaust from header to tail pipe. Has all the cats and the muffler appears slightly smaller than stock. The system was installed by the PO and I’m not certain I would have chose the same. I like it the longer I’ve had it. It’s louder than stock but definitely not obnoxious. Has a low deep tone at idle and low deep tone on acceleration. Cruising speed and I hardly notice it. I have a hard top on and don’t get any drone.

Im running the 2 pre cats with no third cat and a spintech. It drones so loud between 2 and 3k rpms ive started keeping earplugs in the jeep.

don't get me wrong, at idle and low rpms its got a killer throaty sound to it.

wakes the whole neighborhood on start-up.

As much as i appreciate people telling me it sounds great im looking into other options for the sake of my hearing (and my kids)
Which spintech? I have no plans of removing 3rd cat as it must pass emissions depending on what address is registered to. Not sure how that will impact sound. Will try do before and after video when get it installed.

ill try to get a photo of it tomorrow. not sure which number it was but its pretty small. exhaust shop talked me into it when i was trying to find something that fit with the tummy tuck

I listened to a few YouTube clips, for what that’s worth, and decided to try the 6000 series (part #6222). Guess I’ll find out if should have went with the 3000 series as it is listed as quieter.

My spintech is not crazy loud and it doesn't have much of a drone at all. Now the old flowmaster 40 series I had on my old tj had the worst drone to it.
I don't have a tailpipe, just a turn down at the muffler.
I am also looking at other options because I would like to remove the rear cat and tuck the exhaust up for a belly up skid. This time I want to run a tail pipe out the rear like stock.

i used this as a replacement last year
i have no drone noise and its quiet. What can i say im old and cheap and DO NOT want to hear exhaust
over the engine or radio etc... i have No complaints at all with sound... fitment i had to bend the tail pipe slightly to clear the trailer hitch as it rattled on it just barely.

I've been around many rigs with some sort of Spintech on them. I'd never install one on anything I own.

To those of you who have replaced your muffler and know a bit about this subject, what did you use?

I'm looking for something that is no bigger than the stock muffler (smaller is better too) but as quiet as can possibly be. The reason for this is my ARH headers are going to make it louder than sin with headers and no cats, so I am hoping I can use a muffler to at least quiet it down somewhat.
I assume the mid-arm would be different usable space than a standard control arm location?

@Chris as I believe we have the same limitations, I went with a Magnaflow s/s 5x8x14, 2.25/2.25 CC, and I believe it is quiet and certainly no drone to it...

Are you running without cats and headers by chance?

sorry, pal, I live in CA, cat is intact and no headers...I guess our rigs are not that alike!! I was thinking more of the mid-arm, T/T etc...

Old thread but thanks to the few that recommended the Thrush Hush. Just had it welded in today and man, it’s absolutely perfect. Very quiet yet deep rumble when hard on the gas or downshifting and has zero drone on the highway. Cruising I couldn’t hear it at all. The exhaust shop mechanic loved it and asked me what brand it was so he could recommend it to people.

Oh, and it was only $32 on Amazon
