Raise Spare Tire Mount?

My 33s are hitting my bumper by about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. So close, just need to go up a little, not out 3". Any way I can avoid a spacer that will push the spare out?

Odd a 33" tire is hitting the bumper unless your wheel has a lot of backspacing. I ran a 33x12.50 spare tire on the OE factory spare tire bracket and it cleared the bumper without issue. The bracket did crack 6 weeks later from the weight of the 33" spare however. I wouldn't add a spacer either, that would just give your spare tire more leverage against the mount making it even more likely to crack/fail like mine did without a spacer.

They do make some aftermarket brackets that are stouter and would probably give you the extra space for sure. Some boast they are able to hold up to 35’s, but I’d Exogate if I was going that big with my spare. Frankly, I’d probably Exogate with 33’s.

My half worn 33x12.5 sits on top of the rear bumper (have to lift up on the door ever so slightly to close it), so if your tires are new I could see it not fitting. If you carry a compressor with you, you could always try letting some air out of the spare and see if it'll fit that way.

Yeah, These are 285/75/17. I worry about cracking the tail-gait in the long term. You know, I've only had my Jeep for 7 months or so, and I've found out everything is more fun... and often, more complicated as I make changes and get those dominoes falling. Thanks.

Good idea. It does fit a bit better, but my wife is crinkling her nose. Her Jeep too (when she's watching). Thanks

Yep, that’s a solid product. Should be fine with an extended mount
