As a former native son of CA I am aware of all of the good folks there but despise the commiecrats ruining a beautiful state. We had a grocery store a farm horses and cattle but left when La and San Francisco really started running the state and of course the drugs, took the daughters and wife and left for good!

I hear ya brother. It’s the haves and have nots. Middle class is hard to find. I’ve sat in my work truck in down town sf waiting for stores to open and just watching junkies shoot up. I can’t stand up for my own state. Sucks. I miss Texas

Pelosi is safely tucked away in Marin County with no threat of poor ppl. Our state is huge and wide and full of fair minded folks who tend to be rednecks. I could surprise you with how country we are. We are just overwhelmed with idiots and socialist yeah. But lots of good folks , great land, great food. But idk, Idaho looks awfully good to move too lol

I can tell that I do not know the better parts of CA just from talking with some of the people on this forum...big land ranches, low taxes on a few.....I still think NH, TN, NC is where I will end up when I retire...getting sick of needed to make 150K+ just to pay the bills

On my local auction site found this 'interesting' Lamp....got it cheap and decided to re-vamp it...Made from a cog, car speedo, water pipes and 2 safety light guards. The gold was a bit much so pull it apart and toned it down a bit with some satin black and 2 vintage LED's.

That might actually work. Tonight me and the five kids were driving home and I stopped to go sit in a JLU. It was just sitting there open on the lot. They do that a lot around here (no pun intended). The kids show me every feature, so I hardly try to look at things myself. I just wait for the next one to show me what they want. So, this one kid takes me to the back to show me how much space there is in the trunk. He’s like, look how much water we could put back here Dad! Cool I said. Then he says, we could all get in here as a family. Then he says, wait, no we couldn’t, it only holds five. As one of the younger girls opined about how wonderful it was because it smelled new, the others said, I don’t know Dad, I still like the TJ.

Always thought this was cool, found in an old grave yard way off the beat'n path.

Its reads:

In Memory of James Kiep, a native of Bay D' Chaluir, aged 21 years who came to his death the 1st of July 1848 by the hands of an assassin.

The cool thing is I have the story on PDF which is very cool to read, he was murdered in Moose River Nova Scotia which is very close to where both my parents grew up. When you read it you hear about them dispatching the sheriff by horse and buggy to make the 2 day trip that now takes 25 minutes by car. He was essentially murdered for his belongings which did not consist of much more than a pair of trousers and a couple shirts.
