Tall wheels and skinny tires were fine back in the day, but I have to confess that picture made me snort ginger ale up my nose !
That poor JK picture sure is making the rounds...Got my new tires! I can air down from 35 to 34 now!

I'd call it a "face plant special" - I'd need several attendants just to walk in the thing!
You need to learn the Beryozka, and starch the hell out of it.View attachment 329359

That might work! I've seen this dance before - its really cool!!You need to learn the Beryozka, and starch the hell out of it.
I would have said "Buy a corded electric" - but after seeing your lot, that wouldn't work so well. Compared to mine, its HUGE.Landlord covers the mowing where im renting & im happy where im at.. but the kid he hires out hasn't been here in 2 weeks and I was nowhere near impressed nor happy with the kids first mow of the season and the lawn had turned into a jungle. he had missed patches of grass everywhere with his riding mower (its not a very big lot) & once he finished mowing he string trimmed about 3 or 4 small spots but ignored 90% of all the rest of blatantly obvious spots string trimming was needed along the buildings foundation, around the mailbox, power pole & trees.
Im a little bit of a yard upkeep person, so dishing out a couple hundred for yard tools and taking over the job doesn't hurt my feelings any bit at all & the landlord generously gives me the friends/family deal anyways as hes a pretty decent respectful guy. gonna talk to the landlord and tell him I got the yard work covered, I dont mind doing it & save him some money.
looked around at mowers for a few days and found id be in the $200 range anyways for gas or electric and settled on the $299 cobalt 40v push mower with a 6AH battery.
my duplex is on a 1/4 acre (.10 hectare) lot and I was questioning wether or not a battery mower was legit enough to take on the job.
well after mulching 6"+ grass down to 2 1/2" in the entire back yard, my and the neighbors side yards & the front yard & neighboring duplex front yard I still had 1 bar left illuminated on the battery and was able to put the same battery in the string trimmer and trim the edges, sidewalks and flower beds.
I do believe I walk a slightly slower pace than I would with a gas mower but it doesn't bog down nor stall out + the blade speed ramps up automatically when cutting a thicker patch likely from some little computer chip noticing a increased load on the motor but ramps back down when not needed. and the only time I stalled it out was when I rolled the deck over a ground out stump grass rut forcing the blades to cut the grass down to about 1/2"... otherwise, no complaints.
overall im pretty happy with it, it cut well and is very light weight + has a steel deck.
handle slides in as shown in photo below, handle folds up and the mower stores upright, taking little floor space in the small garage I have.
no gas, no oil, no maintenance, just charge and go & clean up with some compressed air when done. pretty decent for a small inner city lot where im at.

Looks good. We bought an electric weedeater ( DeWalt ) it works well. It was such a pain trying to get the gas powered Stihl running every seasonLandlord covers the mowing where im renting & im happy where im at.. but the kid he hires out hasn't been here in 2 weeks and I was nowhere near impressed nor happy with the kids first mow of the season and the lawn had turned into a jungle. he had missed patches of grass everywhere with his riding mower (its not a very big lot) & once he finished mowing he string trimmed about 3 or 4 small spots but ignored 90% of all the rest of blatantly obvious spots string trimming was needed along the buildings foundation, around the mailbox, power pole & trees.

due to our overlords ethanol gas mandates.
As a side note, I have Never used a lawnmower in my life, since I have always lived in the Rockies. So I don't have a qualified opinion on lawn care !!
Battery has come a long way, my next mower will be a push Ego. I have the trimmer and blower and work great but have a small lot to maintain. I have a gas ryobi with a bunch of attachments and found the fuel line disintegrated in the tank. Bought a kit online with new fuel filter, line, carb, air filter etc for $18 and now runs like new again.
