This was my second wheeling trip ever, first in my own rig, and first with a manual. My rig def got a used, but I learned a lot (2nd gear in 4 low is a perfect combo!). Bought the rig as it is. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

My 13yo son and I just got our first rig also and can't wait to hit some trails with a good friend of mine.

Make sure you guys check your diff fluids to make sure no water got into them. And just give the undersides a good once over to make sure everything is OK....

Looks like a FUN trip. And Welcome to the TJ world of FUN...

Yes it was a ton of fun. I am going to give it a once over after I clean it up, heard and felt some interesting noises in 4-low🤔 so gonna have to check that out.

Went to Gruber Offroad park after work last week with a coworker who recently bought himself a TJ, slapped some 31" MTs on it, Dana 35 and no lockers. He found a mud hole taller than his tires and drove straight into it. He was sitting on his axles spinning and throwing mud everywhere, I told him he had plenty of points of contact, but not enough of them were tires.

I winched him out and then he thought he could straddle it and use some inertia to push through.

So I winched him out again. :ROFLMAO:

fun times were had by all.

So I drove up to the Bear Tooths to run Goose Lake trail just outside of Cooke City.

What a great trail. But being solo I don't have many photos. But I was in 4LO the whole way and had about 3 sections of "oh shit I don't have lockers" - luckily a little skinny pedal and 8psi did the trick. Def building up my confidence in the Jeep.

Had a "I've got to go" moment late yesterday so I headed up the mountain with a disconnected sway bar and 10 psi in the tires.

The road hasn't been graded in a couple years so there's plenty of washboard sections. It had been sprinkling off and on all afternoon. Not enough to make things wet, but enough that there was no dust at all and the traction was great. I started driving a bit faster just to smooth out the bumps. I liked it, so I went faster. Next thing you know I'm in 4-high and wide-open-throttle, going as fast as I dared.

I normally take it pretty easy. One of the reasons I got into off roading was the joy of technical driving and pushing limits without the risk of death that comes with speed. But sometimes you just gotta let it rip. Here I am playing "look I'm a subaru!"

The TJ did well and actually rode pretty smooth at speed! It's hard to capture on video, but this felt really fast.

Great view of the moon rising, almost home.

What brand are those flat fenders? I've always loved how they look and I want to eventually put a set on mine. Rig looks awesome!
