So today got rear ended. It was a hell of a bang. The fuel tank pushed up against diff and cross member gong sideways under rear bumper bent.
Spare wheel damaged , tailgate won’t open. Must say compared to the truck the old TJ stood its ground lol.

seriously , anything specific I should have body shop check. I guess a full inspection of frame? How likely is it this might have bent the frame if that’s nor a daft question.
Gas tank is shot...good news...I was needed a new pump anyway! I just hope the old girl is repairable.
Ps. Wouldn’t start. Engine turned over but wouldn’t fire. Disconnected batery to see if so,thing would reset but had to have a tow home 😢

I hope everyone is OK. Doesn't look too bad. Not great pictures of your Jeep but it looks like a pretty nice silver TJ, my favorite color. Gas tank skid should not be too hard to find, many people upgrade that anyway.

I just got rear ended last month... picking up tj from shop today.

1. Yes... there is a chance the frame got bent... though a hit from the side would have an even higher probablility.

They will check all the things you mentioned.. just be sure you insist on it.

I would also check ujoints and drive line components.

For little thimgs like a dented or scratched bumper... see if they will reimburse rather than replace. Then you could use the money to buy mods.

Make sure the guy who hit you has 100% fault.
