Rear Track Bar Contacting Fuel Tank Skid Bolt

there are other things causin this, none of which have been addressed since the poster has not complained of driveline vibrations.

there is much less leverage applied to that bracket combination with a riser, the leverage that damages the mounts is all the side to side BS thats when the lever gettin tugged. looked at the cartoon. tight movement = least leverage. sloppy movement and your applying the most leverage possible.
 
I don't think you'll be able to get a stock track bar, with its fixed joints, into an angled bracket.

y'all don't think the straight riser has twisted the stock joints because of the pinion roll already? my thought was the angled bracket would end up more level to the ground and therefore more level to the stock joint, isn't that what it does?
 
What pinion roll? With OEM CAs and a 2.5" lift, there is not going to be that much pinion roll. Certainly not as much as that angled bracket wants.

It does have aftermarket lower control arms front and rear. They’re Freedom Offroad fixed control arms that came on the Jeep when I bought it. I wonder if the aftermarket arms are rolling the pinion up and causing this.
 
not what i saw in those pcs , they might be fixed length but those are not appear OE to me.

if the pinions not elevated......i'll give in to if y'all think the angled bracket might be much for a stock bar, but not to not having it/1.

If this is the case I'd say it's possible you're causing the joints in the bar to bind prematurely. It's unlikely that you've bent the mounting bracket due to control arm length.

the riser tightens the axles motion. the control arms don't get tugged as drastically and therefore travel a bit further b4 bind if they can reach it.

and i'll correct this from the riser to restoring the relationship between mounts.

Sorry, I was referring to the joints on the track bar. Prolly should've used "bushings" instead.

they all work the same limiting the amount of uneeded motion is efficiency..............i had the similar thought that the bushings are probably or could be torqued or semi loaded at rest.


OP could pull the axle end and see where it wants to be too. if the frame side bushings are good it'll show where it's comfortable vs the bracket.

I personally wouldn't use the bracket if I didn't have to, not going to argue it is just personal preference. With a 2.5" lift and a slightly longer trackbar (which results in a slightly larger arc), there will be no appreciable effect on axle lateral movement or roll center as compared to stock. There is more than one way to skin the cat (bump stop, grinder, track bar change, etc...) just whatever method you choose to take care of your issue be safe and replace that gouged track bar.
