Different trannies require different techniques to check their fluids (eww?). My Oldsmobile talks about running it through all the gears first. I would follow whatever the destructions say. I just assumed and did it wrong once, and it puked stuff back out the next drive. Too be fair, 99% of my vehicles have been MANual transmissions so
