Removing the cats / down pipe?

Be aware. The 3/8 drive sets at Harbor Freight skip 15mm. I bought a set yesterday and of course my cats to exhaust are 15mm. I got two out with a normal socket. Nothing was more than snug. I used a
5/8 swivel and easily unscrewed the other two. I ordered a 15 mm swivel from amazon. Do I need to find the disconnect points on the o2 sensors before I remove the sensors or can i leave the wires on when I remove the sensors from the pipes.

You need to disconnect the wire ends before you can unscrew the sensors or the wires will wind up and might pullout. I just unplugged the ends and left them in.

I bought these universal impact swivel comes in pair 3/8 and 1/2 and you can put your own size socket on them. From harbor freight $7.99

Thanks! The bumpers on my Jeep were custom made. It's very sturdy too, I put the front bumper to the test once already on black ice and a rock wall doing 25mph or so!

Still haven’t got the release on those sensor wires from the blocks figured out. One is above the transmission and will require one hand. Suggestions?

The back one by trans I was able to get both hands somehow in there. One clip you have to hold open to get it apart. The one in front you need to pop the push in connector out of the frame, this is also the plug that you need to disconnect, once you pop it out you can disconnect.

Got that front one. On the one over the tranny, did you go if from the top? I thought maybe with the hood extended back?

I was able to move the wires backwards to an open area behind the wheel well.

I found it easier for me to get to it from underneath the Jeep, one arm through the right the other through left push the button/clip down and with the left hand pull gently or wiggle.

I had ordered a flowmaster direct fit for the cats. That is getting delayed so looking for something that is actually in stock. What are your thoughts on the Eastern direct fit?

just ordered the Eastern cats from Amazon so just waiting on them to arrive. I also ordered Banks exhaust too. I received exhaust today but will be installing along with cats.

Custom 15mm and a very long extension

Is that like a ratcheting box end? I am going to get a set of metric swivel sockets. My skin is too thin for arm chewing.

Mine kept coming loose , so I did new bolts wth grippy heads and red loctite then put a prevailing torque nut over the first nut to jam it.

Mine were very loose at the manifold. Not so at the muffler.
