The tach on my 2005 LJ IPC stopped working. I diagnosed an internal failure of the IPC. I picked one up from a part out that has almost the same exact mileage. Everything is working fine but, the skim light is on. The part out jeep obviously has a skim in it.
Does anyone know if the IPC can be reprogrammed? I could just unsolder the bulb, but then I have the intermittent chime to deal with.

The problem is once SKIM is activated and then removed or deactivated, the cluster will tell you with a chime and light that it once had functional SKIM but now does not.

So, there is no work around other than installing a Skim module and having everything programmed correctly? I think I'll just remove the bulb and deal with the chime.

My buddy's 2003 TJ had factory SKIM but only one key. We both bought new PCM's from @Wranglerfix with different objectives. While I removed his OEM PCM with battery disconnected, he removed the SKIM module. Upon power-on initialization of the new PCM (critical sequence), the original chipped key functioned without SKIM being activated but the Sentry Key lamp illuminated. So then, we partially separated the gauge cluster to allow access and slipped electrical tape over the back of that lamp port. Much simpler and safer than messing with the PCBA. No problems subsequently.
